Only 1% direct investments for nature in the EU Green Deal

SEVEN ORGANISATIONS PARTNERED TO ASSESS THE EU GREEN DEAL AND ITS IMPACT ON NATURE AND BIODIVERSITY

The Green Nature Positive Partnership, composed of seven organisations* and coordinated by Climate & Sustainability assessed how the the EU Green Deal delivers on nature and biodiversity. The partnership analysed in detail 10 national recovery plans and found that less than 1% of the investments were directly targeting nature and biodiversity.

These results were presented to the EU Commission, the EU Parliament and several national governments representatives during online workshops. Following the publication and the communication on these findings, we hope that future public subsidies will increase the proportion of funds directly targeting nature and biodiversity.
